The men's Big East basketball tourney has been played since 1980. Here's a breakdown of Big East tournament championships by conference member:
Georgetown has won the Big East basketball tournament 7 times including the 2007 Big East tourney championship. Connecticut has won the Big East tournament 6 times. Syracuse has won the Big East conference tournament 5 times followed by St. John's with 3 titles, Boston College(now in ACC) and Seton Hall with 2 titles each, and Pittsburgh, Providence, and Villanova with 1 each. The 2008 Big East basketball tourney will be played at Madison Square Garden in New York from March 12 through March 15.
