Colonial Basketball Tournament: CAA Tourney 1983 thru 2008
The men's Colonial basketball tournament has been played since 1983. Here's a breakdown of Colonial tourney championships by conference member:
Richmond(Atlantic 10) won the Colonial basketball tourney 5 times before leaving the league. UNC-Wilmington and Old Dominion have won the Colonial conference tournament 4 times followed by Navy(now in Patriot League), George Mason, and VCU with 3 titles each, James Madison with 2 titles, and East Carolina(now in Conference USA) with one title. The 2008 Colonial basketball tournament will be played at Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virgina from March 7 through March 10. VCU is the defending CAA tourney champion.
