WAC Basketball Tourney: Conference Tournament 1984 thru 2008
The men's WAC basketball tourney has been played since 1984. Here's a breakdown of WAC tournament championships by conference member:
UTEP(C-USA) won the WAC basketball tournament 5 times before leaving the league. Utah(now in Mountain West) and Hawaii have both won the WAC conference tournament 3 times followed by BYU(now in Mountain West), New Mexico(now in Mountain West), Wyoming(now in Mountain West), and Nevada with 2 titles each, and UNLV(now in Mountain West), San Diego St(now in Mountain West), Tulsa(now in C-USA), Fresno St, and New Mexico St with 1 title each. The 2008 WAC basketball tourney will be played in Las Cruces, New Mexico March 11-15.
